We have a wonderful variety of events scheduled to take place as part of Aycliffe Festival this year. With everything from outdoor music events in the Town Centre and Town Park to a craft competition and tea with bears!
The Festival starts on Friday July 13th with three events; Afternoon Tea with the Bears at St Elizabeth’s Church, a Music Night at the ‘Big Club’ Sheraton Road and an evening of Jazz at The County (Aycliffe Village)
Details of all of the Festival events are available from this link.
Armed Forces week was first held in 2009 when it was an opportunity for local communities to be able to show their appreciation to the men and women of the Armed Forces from serving personnel to service families and from recruits and veterans.
To mark the beginning of the week, a short service will be conducted by Rev. Ann Anderson and there will be refreshments available afterwards in the Church Hall.
Members of the public are welcome to attend and are asked to meet at the War Memorial outside St Clare’s Church Newton Aycliffe for 11 o’clock.
