Events

We play a significant rôle in the Parish and try to encourage the community to become involved in the activities we provide whilst trying to ensure that the ‘Events Calendar’ includes activities and events for all members of our community, from sports coaching for our junior residents to the senior citizens’ excursions for our older residents.

Some funding for your own community’s events is available from the Council.  Please contact us for more information.

We help voluntary organisations to plan some events, e.g. 10k and Fun Run. Other events include those to raise funds for the Mayor’s Charity or civic functions like the Civic Ball which are held each year.

Some of our events are organised by the Oakleaf Sports Complex, eg Fun in the Parks and the Firework Display.

Events for your Diary

The list may not yet be complete, there may also be a few other to add yet, plus a Horticultural Show which will be held in September. Watch our website for more information and updates at www.great-aycliffe.gov.uk
