Fairground

Fairground Rides

Moore Lane Park, Moore Lane, Newton Aycliffe DL5 5AG

Cooper’s Fairground will be at Moore Lane Park again this year.

There will be large and small rides as well as side stalls and catering stands.

Entry is free but there will be a charge for rides.  Watch out for the money off coupons in the Newton News.

Music Night at Newton Aycliffe Working Mens’ Club

A great night out with live music

The popular Music Night at the Working Men’s Club will run again this year following its success in 2015 and 2016.

A great night out with live music

The music will come from headliners,  Ocean who are a well-known local 4 piece band specialising in Pop and Rock classics.

Band members are Richard who plays rhythm guitar and is the main vocalist, Mick is the lead guitarist with Adrian playing bass guitar and Paul on the drums.  Ocean are to be supported by Micky Rich another local performer.

With Ocean and Micky Rich on the same bill this has the makings of yet another great night out.

PCP Summer Community Fun Day

Is there a beanstalk for Jack to climb?

Saturday 15th July 10.00 am – 2.30 pm

The Pioneering Care Partnership will be opening its doors/grounds to the public on Saturday 15 July 2017 for a free fun packed family fun day. There will be lots to do for everyone, from arts/crafts e.g. craft workshop, badge making, biscuit decorating, face painting, gardening activities e.g. jack and the bean stalk planting and bouncy castle.

People can learn more about the art of science, visit the petting zoo, explore the Double-Decker Den (soft play double-decker bus), meet the magician and watch a Punch and Judy show . That’s not to mention a live theatre production, mascot characters mixing with the crowds and much more. This fantastic array of activities has all the ingredients for a great day out.

Health Trainers will be on hand to provide health and wellbeing information/support whilst also offering a free fruity healthy snack.

We will also be engaging people to share and contribute their ideas about development of future activities/services to meet the needs of communities within Newton Aycliffe.

A discovery trail will be created through our building and community gardens leading the public to the many activities and information points. Our on-site Coffee Shop will be on open throughout the event to serve a range of tasty, healthy snacks, light meals, sweet treats and refreshments.

The Pioneering Care Centre and its grounds are fully accessible, the Event will be open to all and there is no entrance fee. This event is a great addition to the Aycliffe Festival Event Programme and supports the concept of the Festival by providing an event from a local community venue for the local community.

St Andrew’s Church Cream Teas

Full STEM Ahead

Schools from the area are invited to this exciting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) event which will be held in the Recreation Centre, Newton Aycliffe on Tuesday 18th July from 9 am – 2.30 pm.

The event  will host a series of science, technology, engineering and maths interactive presentations to excite and enthuse the young people into the world of engineering as a career.

Flowers Forever

A display of hand made flowers

St Elizabeth’s Church, St. Elizabeth’s Close, Woodham, Durham, DL5 4UE

There will be  a wonderful display of hand made flowers on show at the Church.

The flowers on show will be made from various materials including paper, embroidery, sugar paste and some photographs.  There will not be any fresh flowers on display.
