Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th August 2012
The Great Aycliffe Show is the largest of all the events organised by the Council. It is held on Saturday and Sunday of the August Bank holiday each year. You can see a video exerpt from the 2011 Show at this link.
The first, small show was held in 1985 and has now grown each year to be one of the main attractions on the Aycliffe Calendar. The entertainment and competitions attract thousands of people from the whole of the north east.
The two-day show has something of interest for all members of your family from the very young to the not so young. There is a wide variety of professional and amateur entertainment in the Playhouse Marquee. Outside in the arena we have spectacular entertainment with a main ‘act’ of motorcycle or car stunt teams and a supporting cast of varied entertainment with something for everyone’s taste.
On the showfield there are free or subsidised activities as well as fairground rides, lots of indoor and outside stands, free face painting and Punch and Judy shows and much, much more.
