County Durham Plan, Inspectors Interim Report.

Areas identified for development in the Local Plan for the Parish of Great Aycliffe had not been criticised by the Planning Inspector and it was noted that planning permission was already in place for a number of these areas. In fact in paragraph 60 the Inspector was in broad agreement with the proposals for Newton Aycliffe. With this in mind the Great Aycliffe Neighbourhood Plan progressed successfully, and was praised for it’s extensive consultation with residents, businesses and the community.

A Great Aycliffe Neighbourhood Plan Newsletter was developed as an alternative way to engage with residents and let them know what had happened. Newsletter.

Pre-submission newsletter. provided a snap shot of what the pre-consultation was, how to get involved and key dates.

Poster. was placed in key locations around town to ensure as many people as possible were aware of the consultation.  This was in addition to publicity in the local newspapers and the Town Council Newsletter.
