HM Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

You are invited to join us on Thursday 2nd June 2022 from 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm, on the OakLeaf Sports Complex field to celebrate Her Majesty the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, this once in a lifetime event includes free entertainment and fairground rides.

There will be fun competitions so everyone can take part! Winners will receive a Platinum Jubilee medal. You will be able to have your photo taken with Her Majesty (cardboard cut-out). We are encouraging people to bring their own picnic, there will be a refreshment kiosk, however they won’t be serving food.

The event will draw to a close with the Mayor of Great Aycliffe Town Council lighting the beacon at 9:45 pm, this will be accompanied by a piper playing Diu Regnare, which is a piece of music selected by Her Majesty to be played whilst the beacon is lit.
