Notice of Election (Shafto St. Marys Ward)

1. An election is to be held of One Town Councillor for Great Aycliffe Town Council (Shafto St Marys Ward).
2. Forms of nomination for the Parish Election may be obtained from the Returning Officer, Electoral Services, The Annex, County Hall, Durham, DH1 5UL who will, at the request of an elector for any electoral area prepare a nomination paper for signature.
3. Nomination papers must be delivered to the Returning Officer, The Annexe, County Hall, Durham, DH1 5UL on any working day after the date of this notice, (excluding bank holidays) but no later than 4 pm on Friday, 15 September 2023.
4. If any election is contested the poll will take place on Thursday, 12 October 2023.
5. Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 12 midnight on Tuesday 26 September 2023. Applications can be made online: https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote
6. Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes and amendments or cancellations of proxy votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Electoral Services, PO Box 721, Durham, DH1 9RG by 5 pm on Wednesday, 27 September 2023.
7. Applications for a Voter Authority Certificate or an Anonymous Elector’s Document valid for this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Wednesday 4 October 2023. Applications can be made online: https://www.gov.uk/apply-for-photo-id-voter-authority-certificate.
8. New applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Electoral Services, PO Box 721, Durham, DH1 9RG by 5 pm on Wednesday, 4 October 2023.
9. Applications to vote by emergency proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Electoral Services, PO Box 721, Durham, DH1 9RG by 5pm on Thursday, 12 October 2023
