Finance Service Plan
The Finance Service Plan within the Article 13 documents provides details of the role the Finance Section performs within the Council.
This includes managing its finances, preparing its accounts and budgets and ensuring that sound arrangements are put in place for securing economy, efficiency and effectiveness in the use of the Council’s financial resources and that the Council provides value for money to council tax payers.
The Finance Section also provides an important support service to the Council’s front line service areas in terms of providing a payroll service, payment of invoices, income collection and banking, financial advice and training, insurance, internal audit and more.
The purpose of the Finance Service Plan is to put in place a mission statement, service aims and objectives, performance monitoring arrangements and the annual Action Plan specific to the work of the Finance Section.
