Community Engagement

As part of our commitment to be open and transparent, most of our council meetings are open to the public.  Members of the public may ask a question on an item which is on the agenda or submit a question in writing 5 days prior to the meeting.  All our meetings are advertised in the local press and on our notice boards.

The Town Council supports Aycliffe Youth Council.  To find out more about them please check out their page by following the link above.

We also have a Customer Panel Group which meets when required.  The Customer Panel are encouraged to get involved in Town Council matters and members of the group are able to meet senior officers face to face and quiz them about their work.

Our residents are important to us and the Council is constantly trying to find ways to engage with residents.  We attend community and local events to try and promote our work and gain residents’ views on the Town Council and our work.

We use surveys, when applicable, to ensure the work we are doing is what the residents want and, more importantly, continues to provide value for money.
