St Oswald’s Park

St Oswald’s Park is located off Wren Close in Newton Aycliffe.

The Park is open:

  • 1st April to 30th September – 8.00 am – 8.00 pm
  • 1st October to 31st March – Opening time 8.15 am, closing times vary depending on daylight hours.

St Oswald’s is a ‘traditional’ enclosed park, with flowers, trees and seating.  It has a formal garden, ‘Sheila’s Garden’ with artwork and landscaped garden features.

There is a separate picnic area located near to the junior play equipment with tables suitable for use by adults and children.

There are flower beds and tubs planted with seasonal bedding at various locations throughout the Park.

The play equipment in the Park offers a diverse range of activities for children of all age groups and abilities.  There are two fenced play areas, one for infants and one for juniors.  The play equipment includes multi activity units, swings, springers, spinning poles, roundabouts, climbing frame, and other challenging items of equipment.  There is also a basket ball practice area and some items of accessible play equipment included in this Park.

There are male and female toilets and a separate accessible toilet for wheelchair users.

Maintenance checks are carried out regularly; however, if you find that the equipment or the play area needs attention please let us know by telephone 01325 300700 or email us  and we will endeavour to carry out repairs or make the area safe as soon as we possibly can.
