- The Town Council are seeking a candidate to fill a vacant councillor seat.
- Currently the Town Council has a vacant seat in the Woodham Ward.
- Anyone interested in becoming a Town Councillor should complete an ‘Application for Co-Option Form’ which is available from the Town Council.
- The application form requires applicants to confirm that they meet the eligibility criteria for becoming a councillor and to provide details of their background, knowledge and experience.
- Please see the Council’s website and read the Council’s Co-Option Policy for information on the criteria and process for becoming a co-opted councillor.
- The closing date for applications is midnight Friday 22nd May 2026.
- Candidates will be invited to attend the Meeting of the Council on Wednesday 10th June at 7.00pm, where they will have the opportunity to introduce themselves, give information on their background and experience and why they wish to become a member of the Council.
- The Council will appraise the applications and vote on the candidates at this meeting, with appointment of the co-opted candidate confirmed in writing following the meeting.
- Please note that co-opted members are not eligible to claim the Basic Members’ Allowance.
