Fun in the Parks – Dates for your diary!
Fun in the Park is our summer holiday event series designed for children aged 3 to 8 years. Taking place across eight of our local parks, each session runs from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm and is packed with activities for young families to enjoy.
Organised by Great Aycliffe Town Council, the events offer free entertainment for families throughout the day. Additional attractions such as side stalls, body art, food vans, and ice cream vans will also be available, with charges applying for these extras.

🌟 Fun in the Parks 2026 – Get Ready for an Amazing Summer! 🌟
Our much‑loved summer adventure is back, bigger and brighter than ever. Each park has its own theme, its own magic, and endless fun waiting for families to dive into. Here’s what’s happening across the town this year:
🎪 Town Park – A Day of Big Smiles & Big Fun
Step into a world of excitement! Mr Twister will be dazzling children in the marquee, while the park bursts with funhouse thrills, a mini ferris wheel, an inflatable play bed and slide, plus a climbing wall and cave bus for little explorers. Add giant bubble fun and family crazy golf, and you’ve got a perfect day out.
🎉 Simpasture Park – A Bubble‑Filled Adventure
Mr Twister returns with more laughter and magic in the marquee. Kids can enjoy two small fairground rides, a funhouse, ferris wheel, the clown around inflatable, and the ever‑popular bumpy carz. Keep an eye out… the Bubble Man will be floating by with his spectacular bubble displays.
🤹 Moore Lane Park – Circus Magic Comes to Town
Welcome to our circus‑themed spectacular! Mr Twister will be entertaining in the marquee, and our talented circus performers will be running workshops where children can try out real circus skills. Enjoy two small fairground rides, the clown around inflatable, bungee trampolines, and plenty of giant bubble fun to top it all off.
🐾 Oak Leaf Sports Complex Field – A Wild Animal Adventure
This park is all about creatures big and small. Mr Twister brings his magic show to the marquee, alongside two small fairground rides, a huge inflatable assault course, and bumpy carz. Animals About Town will be joining us with their friendly farmyard favourites, and Animal Story will showcase their incredible wild and exotic animals. Plus, the Bubble Man will be making a special appearance.
🦖 St Oswald’s Park – Dinosaurs Take Over!
Mr Twister will be entertaining in the marquee, and children can enjoy two small fairground rides and the clown around inflatable. But the real stars of the day? Dinosaurs roaming the park for a prehistoric adventure like no other. There’ll also be giant bubble fun throughout the day. Additional parking will be available in the football field next door—just follow the signs.
🌈 Horndale Park – A Day of Laughter & Play
Join Mr Twister in the marquee for more magical entertainment. Kids can enjoy two small fairground rides and an inflatable play bed, and the Bubble Man will be stopping by with his amazing bubble creations.
🔍 Aycliffe Village Park – Magic, Games & a Family Hunt
Mr Twister brings his fantastic magic show to the village. Children can enjoy two small fairground rides, a large inflatable slide, family crazy golf, and a fun hunt to take part in around the park.
🎠 Woodham Park – Funhouse Thrills & Family Games
Mr Twister will be entertaining in the marquee, while the park offers two small fairground rides, a funhouse, a large inflatable, and bumpy carz. Families can also enjoy a round of crazy golf together.
